About

I sketch in London and elsewhere. This site is a collection of my drawings and prints. My drawings are done on location, using pen and ink and watercolour. I also create prints by hand using etched copper plates, or woodcuts.

If you would like to use any of my images online or offline, please contact me first via the contact page or leave a comment on the webpage that interests you. All images on this website are copyright (c) JaneSketching unless otherwise indicated.

Links are welcome! Please link to my pages from your website or social media post, as this helps people to find me. I am on instagram as @JaneSketching.

I also undertake commissions. Please contact me if you’d like me to make a watercolour sketch of your house, apartment block or workplace, or if you’d like to commission a picture of a special place as a gift.

Here are some examples of how my work has been used:

My thoughts about why I draw are on the page “About my Sketching”

My drawing tools are described on the page “Drawing tools”.  See my paintboxes on this page: Paintboxes.

I was invited to write a piece about my drawings on board “Lady of Avenel”. Here’s my draft: “The Swimming Artist”

I constructed this website using WordPress with the “TwentySixteen” theme. If you find errors or broken links, I’d be very grateful if you’d let me know.

Thank you for browsing my site. I am interested to know what you think!

      1. On the photos of 21 and 23 Park Street. The middle one shows a slim cannon with a rectangular protrusion near the base . That’s how you can tell it was a cannon . It’s called a cascabel. It was used for tying ropes and chains to control recoil after firing . Most cannons were plugged with lead or some other filling .
